Bobelock Violin Cases
Bobelock cases are among the best built and most protective in the world! Bobelock wooden cases offer outstanding protection and a nylon canvas exterior which is more durable, though less shiny, than fiberglass. Bobelock fiberglass cases feature a glossy, protective, genuine fiberglass exterior, which comes in a variety of bright colors, but does not hold up to bumps and falls as well as wood.
- Crush Protection: Excellent. Both wooden and fiberglass Bobelock cases offer outstanding protection against crushing.
- Shock Absorption: Excellent. Bobelock case interiors are well padded and most are fully suspended, allowing the shock of falls or bumps to dissipate before reaching the instrument.
- Thermal Protection: Wood is an excellent thermal insulator. Bobelock wooden cases offer outstanding protection from both cold and heat. The fiberglass cases, though well sealed and insulated, do not offer quite as much protection in this regard.
- Durability: Bobelock wooden cases are among the most durable that we have found. The latches, zippers, and other hardware are custom made and Bobelock cases are well known for their longevity. Care must be taken with fiberglass cases, to avoid scratching the high-gloss finish. A protective canvas slip cover is provided for this purpose. The fiberglass shell may also crack if subjected to a hard fall.
- Interior: Bobelock cases come in a wide variety of plush, colorful fabrics. The interior pockets, bow spinners, etc. are all well made and hold up well to routine use. The instrument beds are well padded and hold the instrument securely. And, most Bobelock cases come standard with both humidifier and hygrometer installed.
- Ease of Travel: Bobelock cases are relatively heavy, compared with more modern composite case, i.e. Bam.
