Collection: Arcus Carbon Fiber Violin Bows
A paradigm shift for bow makers and players alike, Arcus bows offer an agility and quality of performance simply not possible with traditional materials and bow making techniques. Ranging from approx. 47 to 54 grams, Arcus bows are extraordinarily lightweight. They offer a startlingly wide, rich, and dynamic range of tone colors. But, the real draw is how they feel in the hand and touch the strings. Particularly in the upper level Arcus bows, the performance is clear, smooth, and effortless. They also allow the player to practice or perform for hours with little fatigue. Available in a dizzying array of models to suit your instrument and style. Contact us to arrange a free consultation.
Arcus S Series Violin Bows offer great strength and agility with a lively and rapid bounce. The lightest of the Arcus lines at approx. 48 grams, their brilliant tonality makes them ideally suited for darker sounding instruments and players seeking projection, clarity of tone and lightning fast agility.
Arcus P Series Violin Bows offer strength/stiffness combined with a dark tonality. Ideally suited to heavily built, powerful violins, the P series is a good match for instruments with a strong, brilliant sound. Approx. 53 grams.
Arcus T Series Violin Bows are often the best choice for higher-end instruments with a good tonal balance. The T series bow draws out all of the best tonality and characteristics of both the high and low ends of the instrument's range. Approx. 51 grams.
Arcus M Series Violin Bows are more elastic than any of the other series. As with the T, the M series works well with instruments that are generally well-balanced, tonally. But, for some instruments, the T series can just be too powerful. These violins require a softer touch for best response. In such cases, the M series will bring out a beautiful, "singing" tonality, where other bows may "crush" the sound. Approx. 51 grams.
Arcus Müsing Series Violin Bows were specifically designed to meet the needs of players with a budget. They are balanced for a slightly heavier feel and greater stability. Given their pricing structure, they are also an excellent value, i.e. the buyer gets a high degree of performance quality per dollar spent. Approx. 54 grams.
Arcus Quality Designation
Arcus bows are rated for quality and assigned a corresponding number. The higher the number, the better the quality of the bow's performance. Levels 5 and 6 are our best selling bows. The upper level bows offer exceptional playability, a wide and rich palette of tone colors and a smooth, clear, effortless articulation.
