How does the Model 817A Genuine Maple Model compare?
Although all the Maelzel models that we sell are made of solid wood, many are made from the wood of trees found local to the factory in Germany - principally Aldewood - and given a Mahogany, Walnut, or other stain. The model 817A genuine Maple model, however, is made from the seasoned wood of a genuine Maple tree, and given a natural matte finish. The lightest in color of any of the Maelzel metronomes, the genuine Maple model makes a beautiful contrast against dark wood pianos or furniture. A natural wood look with minimal grain.
This model also comes with the optional bell chime, popular with teachers and used to emphasize the down beat of each measure.
