How does the Model 814M Genuine Walnut Model compare?

The genuine Walnut Maelzel metronomes are our most popular and best-selling Wittner metronomes. Although all the Maelzel models that we sell are made of solid wood, many are made from the wood of trees found local to the factory in Germany - principally Aldewood - and given a Mahogany, Walnut, or other stain.  The model 814M genuine Walnut model, however, is crafted from the seasoned wood of a genuine Walnut tree, and given a natural matte finish.

The panels of the 814M genuine Walnut metronome are darker in color than that of the 813M Walnut-Stained Maelzel metronome, and have a more pronounced and attractive grain.  

814M Genuine Walnut With Bell vs. 804M Genuie Walnut Without Bell

The 814M model comes with the optional bell chime that can be set to ring every 2, 3, 4, or 6 beats, or turned off.  The bell is popular with teachers, who use it to help students undertand the emphasis of the down beat.  The Wittner model 804M model does not come with the bell.  Both the 804M and 814M models are made of genuine Walnut wood, and both are given a rich, natural matte finish.
