Collection: Peter Infeld (PI) Violin Strings
Peter Infeld (PI) Violin Strings
Peter Infeld strings are powerful, warm, smooth, and complex. A truly professional string. Excellent for soloists. Like Dominant strings, also from Thomastik, PI strings have a balanced tone color and work well on a wide range of instruments. But, Dominant players will appreciate the greater complexity, dynamic range, and overall quality of this more modern string.

E String Options
The tin-plated E that comes standard with this set is a fine choice for most players. It is smooth and responsive, and a big step-up from the old Dominant plain steel E string. For more warmth and overtones, players may choose the gold-plated E; however, the gold E is more prone to whistling, particularly on high-level instruments.
For supreme brilliance and silky smooth play in the upper registers, PI is the first set to come with the option of a platinum-plated E string. It has a very lustrous tone, though it's rather expensive. Some players say they prefer the tin-plated E to the platinum, regardless of the price. All Peter Infeld E strings have a removable ball end, which can be installed as either loop or ball, as needed.
