Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is J.S. Fisher Violins an Authorized CodaBow dealer?
Yes. We have a long established relationship with CodaBow. We purchase CodaBow products directly from their workshop in Winona, Minnesota. And, we work together to answer customer questions and meet any service needs that arise.
  • What does the CodaBow warranty cover?
Please see CodaBow's warranty page at: https://www.codabow.com/pages/warranty-information for a description of what is and is not covered under their warranty. The folks at CodaBow have always been friendly and professional, offering excellent service to our customers, both before and after the sale.
  • Where can I get my CodaBow rehaired? Are CodaBows rehaired in a special way?
CodaBow bows are rehaired in the traditional way, and can be serviced by whomever you trust with your wooden bows. Or, if you prefer, you can contact CodaBow at 888-CODABOW to arrange service by mail. Their fees are very reasonable.
  • What rosin do you recommend for CodaBow bows?
We recommend rosins based on desired playing characteristics and tone, style of music, type of strings, and other factors. And, there are certainly rosins that we recommend more highly than others for all bows. But, there is no one rosin that we recommend specifically for CodaBow bows. For more, please see our Guide to Rosin.
  • Are CodaBow bows available in a choice of colors?
The answer to this question used to be, no. The CodaBow SX and Joule bows come standard with a Natural Graphite (Grey) tint, and the rest are tinted brown. These standard colorings are much more attractive than most other carbon fiber bows. However, if you're looking for color, CodaBow now makes a Chroma version of the SX, Joule, and Luma models, available in five gorgeous colors. We do not list these on our website, but would be happy to arrange an order for you, if you're interested - just give us a call at 800-372-4151 or send us an email at info@fisherviolins.com.
