Bow Trial Program

The best way to evaluate a bow is to play it for yourself. That's why we offer this bow trial program! Just tell us a little about what you're looking for in the Comments/Desired Bows box, below, and click Add To Cart. Proceed through our secure checkout to provide us with your address and payment information. When we receive your trial request, we'll contact you by phone to chat about bows and help you select models that are likely to work best for you.

Cost

The cost of the initial trial is $20.00. If you choose to keep one of the bows that we send, we'll credit $20.00 toward the price of the bow. But, there's no obligation. If you don't find a bow you like, just send the bows back to us using the pre-paid return label that we provide.

Shipping

We cover the cost of shipping both ways. We'll send the bows to you via USPS Priority Mail, so it will come with your regular mail. We do require a signature upon delivery. But, if you don't happen to be at home, you'll be able to pick up the package at your local post office, at your convenience. With the trial, you'll find a pre-paid label for returning the bows at the end of the trial. Just apply the label and take to your local post office or give to your postal carrier.

When will I get my bows?

If all requested bows are in stock, we usually ship within 1-2 business days. Requests for Arcus bows take a little longer to fill, as we obtain the bows from the U.S. Arcus supplier. Once shipped, Priority Mail typically delivers in 2-3 days.

One-Week Trial

Once you've had the bows in your possession for a full week, we ask that you return them so that we can service other customer requests. Shipping time is not counted as part of the seven days. If a few extra days would be helpful, just send us an email. We are usually able to approve a short extension.

Payment for Bows Purchased

Please refer to the order form included with the trial for pricing. If you choose to purchase a bow, please indicate this on the order form and return with any bows that you choose not to keep. When we receive the returned trial, we'll charge the purchase price to the credit card that you used to purchase the trial. If you prefer to pay via a different card or other method, just give us a call. We'll be happy to arrange payment by whatever method works best for you.

May I have bows shipped to a different address?

For security reasons, we do require that the bows ship to your credit card billing address. Sorry, this is one of the few policies for which we do not make exceptions.

Can I arrange a second trial with different bows?

Certainly! Additional trials can usually be arranged. But, please note that the initial trial fee covers only a fraction of our actual costs for shipping and insurance. For additional trials, we do charge a higher trial fee ($35.00). Regardless of the number of trials, one total credit of $20.00 will go toward the purchase price, if a bow is selected. Please stay in touch with us by email to let us know how the trial is going, and to request additional trials.

J.S. Fisher made the process of doing an in-home bow trial very easy.  I received a call from Jim soon after I put in the order online.  He was friendly, knowledgeable, and after speaking with him, I was confident I'd chosen an appropriate set of bows for my trial.  The return process for the bows is also simple.   All-in-all, professionally done process with a personal touch.  Bravissimo!

I thoroughly enjoyed the trial of the Arcus bows. The knowledge and professionalism of Jim Fisher is outstanding. Although I wasn't able to select a bow I highly recommend Fisher Violins and I hope to find a bow through them soon.

5 of 5 Arcus T5 Violin Bow March 21, 2020
Reviewer: Samuel Vallery from Hot Springs, AR United States
I spent about 3 months doing bow trials. I am a bluegrass/old time fiddler. My go-to bow for several years had been my Coda Luma. I tried too many bows to list here, but they included the Coda Marquise GS, Coda Joule, Jon Paul Vetta, Jon Paul Carerra, many Pernambucco bows (in the $1200-$4K range), both vintage and modern, the Arcus/Musing C5, and several of the Arcus series bows. Of them all, the Arcus T5 was the best fit for myself and my own style of playing/fiddle setup. Mr Fisher was the most knowledgeable and helpful of all the people I encountered on my search. His advice  and suggestions were spot on, and helped me to decide on the T5. I highly recommend Mr. Fisher's shop, if you are looking for a really good bow. Finally, I can't say how good bows in the over $4K range might compare, but in may opinion, the Arcus bows really are better than most other bows of any make/material  in the price range that I imposed upon myself. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
