Environmental Policies

At J.S. Fisher Violins, we believe that as a business, and as individuals, we have a responsibility to give back to our environment more than we consume. To that end, we have committed to making every reasonable effort to reduce waste, to conserve energy, to reuse and recycle, and to minimize carbon emissions and other pollutants.

Carbon Neutral Shipping

We want to do our part in reducing carbon emissions and their impact on our environment. That's why we have partnered with Carbonfund.org Foundation to offset the carbon footprint of each and every package that we ship.

Every time you place an order with us, we'll set aside $.05 to fund projects that prevent deforestation, produce renewable energy, and reduce emissions from methane and other sources. And, because our average shipment requires an offset of less than $.01 to be fully neutral, you can feel confident that your order is making a positive impact.

Packing Materials

The corrugating medium of our boxes is made of 100% recycled materials. The liners are 20%-30% recycled content, according to the manufacturer. And, our boxes are locally sourced and 100% recyclable.

Over 90% of our fill materials (i.e. packing peanuts, bubble wrap) are re-used from shipments that we receive. The small amount of fill material that we do purchase is 100% recycled and recyclable Kraft paper.

International Pernambuco Conservation Initiative (IPCI)

We support IPCI and its mission of restoring and preserving the pernambuco species for future generations of bow makers and musicians. A portion of the proceeds from every bow that we sell (pernambuco or composite) is set aside to help with this important work. Please visit ipci-usa.org to learn more about how you can help.
