Arcus bows are light-weight, meticulously crafted, and lightning-fast. Built for professionals, Arcus bows offer a speed and quality of response that is simply not possible with traditional pernambuco bows.
The S5 has a sterling silver winding and ferrule, and offers a smoother response than the S4. The S series offers brilliance and clarity - ideal for soloists, and for bringing out the vitality of darker sounding instruments.
Travel Internationally with Your Arcus Bow
The ~S5~ is very popular among musicians who are looking for a rather bright and clear sound, combined with stick that offers a lot of resistance, speed and power, but do not want to spend a fortune on such a bow. Many Jazz- Rock- or Folk-players find in the ~S5~ their ideal companion, just as classical players with rather dark sounding instruments.
Arcus bows contain no ivory, tortoiseshell, lizard skin, or other controlled species. You may travel internationally with your Arcus bow with no worries or hassles.
Musicians wishing to travel internationally with bows containing ivory must now obtain a CITES Passport before travel. The ivory must have been legally harvested prior to Feb. 26, 1976, and the bow must have been purchased prior to Feb. 25, 2014. Learn more about traveling with your instrument and bow.
